Author and Award Winning Bartender

Oswald Greenslade was born in The Commonwealth of The Bahamas on May 16th, 1943 and is presently employed as a bartender at The Poop Deck Restaurant – Sandyport. He has more than 40 years experience in the restaurant/hospitality business from the beginnings of the Nassau Beach Hotel in 1961, to becoming the owner and operator of the famous Banana Boat Club in the Nassau Beach Hotel from 1993 - 1999.
Oswald Greenslade attended the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Motel Association. He then completed the course of Food & Beverage Management Certificate in Basic Sanitation, Food & Beverage Controls, Food Production & Principles, and also Food Service, from 1989 through 1991.
Oswald has more than 30 years experience as a Mixologist, having won a number of awards in the area of bartending, including the prestigious “Bacardi Bartender of The Year Award.” He is the creator of many of today’s most popular tropical drinks.
In short, Oswald has been mixing his special drinks for local and foreign customers all of his adult life - and they keep coming back for more.
When he is not mixing his world famous cocktails, Oswald Greenslade, affectionately called “Slade,” is either jogging or playing tennis. “Slade” is also an avid art collector; a member of St. Angus Anglican Church; and also serves on the Government Players Film and Control Board.
Presently, Oswald Greenslade and a group of his friends meet every morning for coffee, conversation, and the Cabinet is the order of the day. They refer to their gathering as "The Breakfast Club."
